Avignon

The river Sorgue irrigates the south west of the Vaucluse region, with its crystal-clear water at 12 degrees all year round. It is France’s largest spring in terms of flow, its water an inexhaustible resource, which has enabled industrial and agricultural development.

Don’t miss: the village of Saumane de Vaucluse, with its cobbled streets, its dry stone houses and the impressive castle-fortress of the Sade family (castle shut for building works).
