Les Halles market and the Palace of the Popes
Cooking lesson in Les Halles (3h including lunch)
An important feature of the local area, Les Halles market in the “Cité des Papes” (city of the Popes) is known for its quality products. It’s a spot to meet up and socialize, with about forty sellers, all of whom are true ambassadors of Provençal products.
The morning begins with a tour of the market with Californian-born chef John Chiri, followed by a cooking lesson, before getting the chance to reap the rewards of your work.
Guided tour of Avignon (2h)
This city of history and culture, part of which is listed by UNESCO, is home to numerous museums and is prized for its rich heritage. A guided tour of the UNESCO site allows you to discover the glorious past of the papal city.

Day 2: Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Orange
50km round trip – around 1h – minibus and autocar facilities
Morning in the vineyard
Just 30 minutes from Avignon, you’ll find the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. If you head to Pavillon Bouachon, you can enjoy a barrel tasting experience on a guided tour with a sommelier – a great way to discover the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine.

Day 3: Luberon
140 km round trip, around 2hrs – minibus and autocar facilities
Free time in Lourmarin and guided tour of its château
1 hour from Avignon, this jewel nestled in the Luberon has been officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, known for its picturesque streets lined with art galleries, restaurants and shops. In addition, you can take a guided tour of the Château, the first Renaissance château in Provence.

Visit the Bastide du Laval (45 mins. to 1h30)
Only a few minutes from Lourmarin, you’ll find the Bastide du Laval, a multi-award-winning olive-growing estate in an exceptional setting which offers tours for groups and individuals. The visit can be guided or self-guided, and ends, of course, with a tasting!
Vaucluse is one of the largest French producers of black truffles. Every winter, from December to March, truffle growers offer truffle hunting or “cavage” demonstrations for groups.
Make your way back to Avignon and have dinner in a gourmet restaurant or continue to Aix-en-Provence (35mins by car)
