This beautiful, contemporary garden with a Tuscan influence has earned the 'Jardin remarquable' (Remarkable garden) label from the French Ministry of Culture.
The garden boasts 3 mirror pools, and one of the oldest grandiflora magnolias in Europe, at approximately 200 years old. There are lanes of boxwood and a beautiful plane tree forest. Guided tours are available for individuals and groups by advance appointment.
Only the castle dungeon and several small courtyards remind us of the medieval past of this city that was sacked by the Baron of Adrets in 1562.
The Italian-inspired castle boasts the tallest plane trees in France, with certain trees reaching 26 m. It was in the park that the Marquis of Brantes achieved the very first ascent in a hot-air balloon in 1789, before landing in Orgon on the banks of the Durance.

The castle is now a private residence and only the gardens are open to visitors (advance booking required). Tel. +33 (0) 4 90 39 11 73. / +33 (0) 6 75 22 79 00.
Free for under 12's.
