Making gin or pastis near Mont Ventoux

At Le Vadrouilleur, in Sault, on the slopes of Mont Ventoux, you can learn the secrets of distillation and make your own gin or pastis during a workshop!

Atelier gin ou pastis

An organic distillery on the slopes of Mont Ventoux

Théo Arnulf distils plants picked in the Ventoux massif (lavender, thyme, rosemary, absinthe, verbena, savory, hyssop) and fruit from local producers (strawberries, apricots, melons) to turn them into a drink that’s delicious as an aperitif. Everything used to make it is organic, including the alcohol.

He organises 2-hour workshops so other people can make their own gin or pastis. The session starts with a presentation of how this spirit came about and the principles of making it. Each participant chooses the aromatic plants they like and distils them in the copper still they are each provided with. Visitors leave with their personalised bottle.

Gin or pastis-making workshops are held twice a day (at 10 am and 5 pm), every day from June to September, then Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from October to November.

For groups: workshops possible all year round, upon reservation
