For more than 150 years, in county Vaucluse, land of candy-making traditions, women and men have been making tasty sweet treats. Founded in the heart of Vaucluse, the confectionery 1844 perpetuates this tradition.

The Maison 1844 is an artisanal, family-run sweet shop and a driving force for tradition. It is located at the base of Mont Ventoux, in Provence. Maison 1844 is a place of sweet treats and well-deserves its success and good reputation.

Since 2018 it has undertaken an eco-responsible approach. Visit the website and come into the shop, accessible to all, to find their delicious artisanal sweets and candies made by Maître confiseur, Michael, with ingredients of exclusively natural origin. Master candymaker Michael carefully selects his raw materials from local growers, including Strawberries and Apricots from Provence, Melon from Cavaillon, Chestnuts from Ardèche, which give his candies the true taste of fruit.

The many different things he makes - such as lollipops, fruit pastes and other gourmandises - requires expert technical prowess and special savoir-faire that takes you all the way back to childhood memories.

Come join in the voyage back to our childhood when you come visit Maison 1844 - there are guided tours, tastings, stories and behind-the-scenes discover of the artisanal production of the famous berlingot from Carpentras, old-fashioned candies, loillpops, fruit pastes and other sweet treats.
