Exploring the traditional oil mill of La Balméenne.
A traditional oil mill founded in 1856 by the Marquis de Gaudemaris. The period of traditional millstones, presses and pressing mats is long gone, and the mill is now equipped with ultramodern facilities. It belongs to the Vaucluse olive grower group.
Its olive oils have often won prizes at the Concours Général de Paris, with gold medals in 1995, 1999, 2000 and 2008. This 100% natural extra virgin oil is made from Verdale olives from Carpentras.
