Since June 2016, the Jardin de la Tour has become the Maison de la Tour, with the friendly and talented chef Pascal Barnouin at the helm. The restaurant -open daily- has an unconventional dining room, a large, leafy courtyard, cooking lessons…
Sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the town, visitors love this unusual restaurant (which used to be a mechanic’s workshop!), its leafy courtyard, the meals based on fresh and local produce, a seasonal menu, the guarantee of a smiling and professional welcome by Marie Barnouin, themed Sunday brunches (for example, Italian and Mediterranean), events and cooking lessons!
Underneath a large glass roof, a throwback to the restaurant’s industrial past, a light-filled space is set aside for cooking lessons with Pascal Barnouin. Following a well-established programme, a small group of 2-12 people (max.) meet in the Halles d’Avignon and go to the market with the chef. Next, everyone boards Provence Tuk Tuk, a charming little vehicle, for a guided tour of the town, before being dropped off right in front of the restaurant. Once inside, the group put on their aprons and set about transforming the contents of their basket into a typical Provençale meal, which is eaten afterwards with a local wine. It’s a lovely moment of conviviality with Pascal and his wife Marie, just as if they were inviting you into their own home.
Price: from €110/pers. (Base 7-12 pers) to €150/pers. (base 2-6 people), covers the market tour with the chef, the 30 minute tour in Provence Tuk-tuk and the journey into town, the cooking lesson and lunch, with drinks included.
You can add a wine-tasting session with a local wine-grower.
